@mo158: copy your current profile, load into the new profile, sell everything in the ProMods areas, remove ProMods from that profile. Win.
You end up with 2 profiles - one with ProMods and one without. Both will have the exact same progress at the time of copying. Going forward they will become different but at least you don't have to start again from scratch.
I did something similar but in reverse, I copied my vanilla profile before I first tried ProMods so I could try using map mods on it without breaking my vanilla profile.

Note: You do need to use a 3rd party tool to decrypt profile.sii - the one in the post didn't work for me however there was an alternative one suggested by someone else in the 2nd reply which did work for me. SCS also don't offer any support for profiles using a decrypted profile as if you edit the wrong thing it can mess up the new profile and it may be something that doesn't show up immediately. If you're just careful and make sure 100% that you're editing the right part then no problem, it's worked fine for me after using it for a while now.
