Hi again, set 4 of 4 from NW Germany, this time heading north from Oberhausen to Bremerhaven.
Love the skin that came with this DLC.
Great bit of countryside between Oberhausen and Osnabruck.
Agricultural logistics centre. Those poor horses are freezing their hooves off.
Osnabruck.
Not far away was Bad Oeynhausen.
After a good hearty lunch we set off for the coast. It got wet and rainy while I was in the inn.
Bremen lay under a pall of smog. I had to brush the fallen squirrels off the roof of the cab after stopping at the service station.
Last short stage of the trip.
At the port of Bremerhaven. Love the toy container ship in the pond!
Isn't that where they put the lost Ark?
A nearby village...
Arrived!! Now let's put that asphalter to work!!
Bye for now....

Back again with a cold and icy Christmas special. Well, a Christmas special in the sense that Happy Christmas is going to be written at the end of it : )
6th series from the SCS basemap with ProMods, Grimes's and Jazzycat's mods installed.
This time - a trip from Brno in the Czech Republic to somewhere between Graz and Linz in Austria. Time: late January - the depths of winter in this part of the world.
A big muddy hole in Brno. Cue eerie female choral singing and a large black rectangle.
Typical Brno scene. I should know - I live there.
Leaving Brno in about the most miserable weather one can conjure up on ETS2 with mods.
Reached Bratislava. The weather is horrid so I'm going to buy a couple of postcards of the city at the petrol station.
Now heading south to Vienna, Austria.
Delivered our trailer to this rather large chemical plant.
Heading into Vienna's centre, with the Stephansdom in the background.
Vienna has been given a decent makeover by ProMods. Must visit again.
Trouble at mill. One on't cross beams gone owt askew on treddle.
Heading south to Graz.
Better turn up the windscreen wipers - clouds of vampire bats expected.
Another delivery. Missed out the word "bloody".
Outskirts of Graz.
The Stadium at Graz.
Heading north towards Linz and Into mountain country at last.
Very idyllic... time for a break!
Happy Christmas everyone - hope you have a great Yuletide!!

Part 2 of this tour of a 6th region in the heartlands of SCS's base map with Promods, Jazzycat's addons and Grimes's seasons... and the first post in the new year of 2018, though I actually made it just after Christmas - hence the paint job towards the end. Santa was good to me this year: Bella Italia, Special Transport, Assassin's Creed Origins and... a new computer to play them on : ). And there was rejoicing!
Anyway, the weather looks more like late January in this part of the world - snow, snow and more snow - but we (re)visit some nice scenery.
Approaching Linz from the south having been in Graz.
Outskirts of Linz.
Industrial sunset.
Foul weather as we left Linz the next morning. Luckily it bucked up a bit later.
In the Czech Republic once more, heading for Prague.
Tanked up on fairy dust by mistake instead of diesel. I did wonder why the pump handle was all pink and sparkly but hadn't had my morning coffee so just let it go - glad I did.
A South Bohemian fishpond polluted by liquid mercury. Lucky it's winter - might flood the nearby village on a hot day.
Picturesque.
Prague. Despite being based there and all the potential, SCS's rendition of the fabulous city of Prague is pretty dismal, sadly. Perhaps they'll revamp the heartlands one day...and hopefully not destroy too much of Promods' work while doing it.
Heading out of Prague to return to Brno, this time with graphics that are just a little crisper, with 400% scaling... : )
The snow that lay all round about was also crisp, and deep and even as well.
Brno again...
It's a fair likeness.
New Scania! And a great cargo.
Off to Vienna again, but this time direct and not via Bratislava. This short route is the nicest bit of the Czech Republic in-game, I guess. I know it well in real life. Takes about 25 minutes from Brno, always makes me smile when it appears 30 seconds after leaving the city in ETS2
This church on an island is all that remains of a village flooded to make these large reserviors.
Mikulov, on the border with Austria, has a lovely castle. It's a wine growing region too, quite nice to visit.
Back in Vienna. Looks great in the sunshine!!
Keeping the Christmas spirit alive....
That's all for now. I wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

With this post I am now half-way through my tour of the original (but modded) ETS2 map, and this is likely to be the nicest
set of pics to appear in this thread. Travelling from Vienna past Linz to Salzburg and then Innsbruck through some of the best scenery the base map has to offer.
Starting off in ProModded Vienna...
Schonbrunn, photographed enthusiastically by some vaguely sinister types.
Got to take that thing to Salzburg.
Village just outside Vienna.
Beautiful scenery on this route.
Salzburg wasn't that exciting on the whole but this part was pretty.
Ooooo, creepy!
New paint and cargo... and a bit warmer weather.
But really only a bit.
Spectacular mountain scenery accompanied us to Innsbruck.
Closer look at that fantastic castle!
Innsbruck.
There's the ski jump!
Just stopped for a kleiner brauner and it's already getting dark.
Heading out of town. Want to get to Vaduz by nightfall.
One last parting shot...
Really enjoyed this trip, hope you liked the pics.
Cheers
