You'll get mountains, because that's what they look like.

Complicated?

I love that service (fuel/petrol) station at the real intersection. Given the long, lonely distances, I can see why that one is probably busy. :mrgreen:
Which service station? There's no service station between Selfoss and Hella. Even worse, the nearest service stations are in Reykjavík or Vík.
Wrong sign. Look at this link you posted earlier about the sign in the intersection:

Look past the sign you were pointing out as the 'model' for your sign. What's that in the background? Oh look! It is a petrol station!

Look at the car parked below the H U G E sign listing all of the branch-off roads were one to drive towards the end. That's the sign I was referring to.

Even is this isn't the exact intersection you are modeling, it still is a neat place for a petrol station... :mrgreen:

Wikipedia has a zoomed in photo of one of these signs;

Ah yes, I don't think I'm gonna make that petrol station, as at a 1:19 scale, it's pretty close to Vík. And Vík is the main service point on the southern coast. :)

Yep. As I wrote earlier, it's easy to understand why people pull off the road and walk back to study those really complicated signs!

Truely incredible work, Purno. A huge contrast from the monotonous SCS landscape.

Glad you like it. Here's another part of Route 1, passing Vík along the way. :)

Still WIP of course :)
