1.70 crashes my new ETS 2

Hi Everyone,

I have just bought ETS 2 from Steam and I have a big problem. I downloaded 1.70 and the file I have is promods-def-v170-SCS File 488KB.

I copied this into my mod folder open the game clicked on 'New Profile' 'Enable All' 'Add'.

When I start the game it crashes. Tried 6 times and failed every time. The mod came from this site.

As the game is very new, I am assuming it's 1.12

Hope you can advise this pensioner who is not goos with computers in simple language please.

Well sorry to say but part 1 has a broken file.
The files 1 and 2 show 0 content and 3 is not unpacking. I tried several downloads and failed.

I tried to unzip 1-2-3 in that order.

Looks like no map for me. Pity.

Part 1 and 2 should have a size of 200MB - if not, try redownloading them (e.g. in a different browser).
If you're using WinRAR or 7zip, you just need to extract only part 1 and it will combine all 3 parts.

What unzipping software do you use?
If you use 7zip, you must put the 3 downloaded file in the same folder, and unpack file 1. Then you'll get the .scs file. That's the map.
If it doesn't work, you must download them again.

When you've done the whole setup on the site and you've unpacked the .rar. You must have 3 files

• promods-def-v170.scs
  promods-map-v170.scs
  promods-v170.scs

Hi,

Did exactly as you say. in 1-2-3 order from the rar's When 7 Zip asked if I want to overwite some files, I said yes. Sure enough promods-map has 0 content.
The other 2 look good to me though.

And I have downloaded these files 7 times. All the same result.

Where else can I get it?

Britpol, it is operator error part on your end.

If you use 7zip as a archive manager it will easily unpack all 3 of the files so you have the proper scs extension files you need. The 3 archives that are linked are a 3 part set. you have to unpack them as a set not separately.
7zip should handle this pretty much automagically.

Has here for years. No issues with the ProMod 1.7 download and I used the option to download for 'free' . It is you guy. ALl you. Try again.

I think your problem is that you are extracting part 1, and then part 2 and then part 3, this is not correct.
If you extract part 1, all the contents will come in one go.

Firstly, let me thank everyone for putting me straight on how to extract the files. 'Thanks'.
Secondly, the game still crashes. Before the crash came early in the load. Now it comes near the end. I had some mods installed but removed them all. Only ProMods were installed. I did this in case of conflicts.

The files I installed are:

promods-def-v170.scs 488KB
promods-map-v170.scs 66,208KB
promods-v170.scs 431,505KB

So nearly there but not yet.

My game, as far as I know is the newest version as Steam updates it automaticly. Is there another way to check it please?

Are the any conflicts problems?

I will get this mod if it kills me.
