So what did you all think of the First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest? The two biggest surprises for me were that Hungary did not qualify and that San Marino did qualify.

My guess is that Australia is going to win. Her performance was spectacular and she had a very pure voice. and Estonia also has a good chance.

I know that politics plays a role at the Eurovision Song Contest, but that's the fun of it! We all know where Cyprus and Greece will vote for!

Yes, it's such a shame that it's about darn politic. Bleugh. And they are obviously aiming for the looks, not the singing & song. I don't care how good looking you are but please sing well, this is a SONG contest, not a beauty contest.
Also, I stopped watching when I realized that Hungary has fell out. Lol...
Uh and one more thing: I don't want to be rude or anything but why is Israel in EUROvision? Not being racist or anything, I just want to know the reason.

I really do not understand why Hungary did not go to the final, it was my favorite song this year.TheNuvolari wrote: ↑15 May 2019 14:17Also, I stopped watching when I realized that Hungary has fell out. Lol...

Israel has been an EBU (European Broadcasting Union) member for decades, because they are not welcome to participate in any events in their local region by other nations in that region that have a boycot on them joining.TheNuvolari wrote: ↑15 May 2019 14:17Uh and one more thing: I don't want to be rude or anything but why is Israel in EUROvision? Australia has a very large European community (particularly in Melbourne) and due to the intense popularity of the event over there, the Australian broadcaster applied for a special EBU membership permit.
