Have paid for the Downloaz and installed the latest pro mods. Bought all the extra maps and got it running.

My pc isn't the newest any more, but it runs most games at 144 with some tweaks, prior versions of ETS2 were perfect and stable.

Recently it's been hovering over 80fps which is a far cry from stable 144fps @ 144hz.

I always have everything maxed besides these

ETS2
-------------

HDR
Anti aliasing.
Depth of field
Anisotropic filtering

NVIDIA
-------------

High performance mode
G-Sync on
No power saving
No Nvidia experience.

Basically the Nvidia side is perfect for ant game I throw at it, pc is cool at idle and load and is tweaked for performance.

My issue is, ETS2 just drops the FPS on the later versions of pro mods. I've followed the order for mods and I don't have any additional mods installed.

Went for ultra on def, I assumed a 1080sc would be able to handle that I usually have scale on 400 and mirrors on ultra.

Is the 1080 not an adequate card any more?

Is ETS2 GPU dependent over CPU?

Have tried a tonne of settings and it always reverts back to around 70-90fps, like it's struggling, even dropping the scaling doesn't help, nor does vsync /G-Sync.

Didn't have this issue before, I'm by no means a veteran on ETS2 but it's a great game (I have no idea why) quite addictive and I've even added local radio from back home.

Oculus CV1 is not a good experience either.

Gas anyone any tips? Would lowering the DD on the sef file from pro mods make a difference? Is a 1080 not enough?

I've tried all the options on Steam too, 64bit, open GL etc, doesn't change much.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers

And thanks for the mods, it does add a lot to the game.

Appreciated.

Without commenting on the rest of your points, the answer to this question is most resoundingly yes.
GPU makes a much bigger impact in ETS2 than CPU.
You should probably tone down the settings and well Ultra is a really really heavy setting, one notch done should make a big difference.

Hi there,

Rapid response, appreciate that.

Do you think the def file would make an impact from ultra to high?

I'm writing all this away from my PC from memory. Will test when I'm back home.

One thing I forgot to mention, I have a high traffic mod, not crazy high but certainly more than normal ETS2.

Will remove mods and test,.

I'm tweak up from there.

Reason I asked about the GPU being the primary driver of the graphics is I checked utilisation during gameplay and it's not close to hitting 100% which to me suggests it's not being used correctly and the problem is elsewhere?

Any thoughts on that?

Earlier versions of pro mods didn't exhibit this on this level.

Added in 2 minutes 45 seconds:
Also what Hz are you running at yourself?

Any dips like one explained? Newest mod version.

Cheers

Yes it make a tremendous difference because it impacts the amount of vegetation drawn

AI and trailer mods can severely impact performance

My setup is 144Hz but most people will never reach 144 fps in the game. I'd say that the majority of gamers plays are 60~80 fps sometimes less.
When areas are particularly built up such as in London, Barcelona, Vienna, Stockholm etc. you will see performance dips and that is totally normal.

@ScuL

That's not whats happening for me on the non modded version mate.

I'll reduce the ultra to high, guessing it won't be a massive visual hit.

Cheers.

Also the games updated, do you have to pay each and every time you want to download an update?

Bit harsh isn't it?

Hi,

you pay for the bandwith, not for the mod.
Also 1€ is not much for the fast download.

You can also use the free download if you want.

Best regards,

That's because the non modded game doesn't have the same level as detail. We use many more visual elements.
