The Ramadan Feast and Istanbul’s Villages
Hi Everyone!
This year everyone have had to make big changes in lives due to the pandemic. For example a lot of events were cancelled or postponed. Pandemic also affected the month of Ramadan.
The month of Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims. Ramadan is also a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, doing good deeds and spending time with family and friends. This month, people host guests at dinner called Iftar. Also many activities are done together. But, Families stayed in their homes during Ramadan due to measures taken to prevent pandemic. After a whole month of fasting during Ramadan comes the feast. This year, the feast will be celebrated for 3 days on 24-25 and 26 May. Ramadan Feast (also known as Eid al-Fitr) is it's a time for Muslims to meet, pray and celebrate with their family and friends. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, many people stay home this year and celebrate the feast with their families online. Our Eid al-Fitr wish is that all people live healthy, happy and peaceful and all injustices and wars come to an end. Eid Mubarak!
Since the Ramadan Feasts is a holiday, most people travel to cities and villages. Villages all over Anatolia are among the places visited by people with their untouched nature and peaceful atmosphere. Also village culture has an important in Anatolia. Although Istanbul is known for its metropolitan lifestyle, there are places with village life. Situated in the nearby districts of Istanbul, these villages are ideal for a quiet life away from the crowd of city.
We know that ETS 2 drivers want to travel on rural roads rather than wide highways. Considering this situation, we have included some villages in the European and Anatolian side of Istanbul in our map mode. We try to reflect the structure of the villages as much as possible. We want to show you screenshots from these works. We hope to offer more than. Stay tuned!
