I think using the term "city" would raise expectations a bit too much. The second screenshot I posted yesterday shows about 80% of one of those "cities". They are nowhere near the size of Kirkenes or Vadsø/Vardø. I would rather call those places villages or small towns. They just happen to have a company...
But yeah, at the moment I am a bit undecided if it is going to be 2 or 3. Most likely it is going to be 3, though.

Not sure if I understood what you said, but I'm pretty sure the road ain't closed in the winter. Just that it's inhabited. We are talking of the same Hamingberg - the one on Varangerhalvøya at the end of that road that is closed in winter. Yeah, I agree, such a road would be really cool. Why don't you drive there
1000 Hours in game, Merry Christmas l

Well, the road is closed in winter - the barrier is just behind Smelror. Go to statens vegvesen and look up Fv8100 - closed since December 22. I can remember years, when it was closed at the end of November...seems they have very little snow up there this season.
As for Hamningberg, as far as I know, the village is uninhabited and people only go there during the summer months. Which coincidentally is the time when all the tourists flood that village as well...
But since ETS2 is set in summer...well I didn't close the road.

So an update regarding the recent drop of the 1.40 beta of ETS2.
As you might know SCS has published its 1.40 version of ETS2 yesterday which includes the newly developed lighting engine. Suspecting that change will lead to ProMods having to adapt quite a few things in their mod before they publish a version ready for 1.40.
So there are essentially two options: Go ahead with the development of the Finnmark Mod for 1.39 and risk ending up reworking everything in order to make it compatible to the 1.40 version of ProMods (maybe even before the next version of the Finnmark Mod is ready for release) or just wait until that ProMods version has been released and then adapt the already existing work to the changes before going ahead (which might take some time, depending on the schedule for the next ProMods release...
As nobody's really keen on doing the work twice, it has been decided that the development will continue once a 1.40 compatible version of ProMods is available.
The good news: The next extension of the road network in the Finnmark has already been covering some dust in the past days as some additional tests have been made. Right now there really isn't any reason why that extension should not be released, given that 1.40 just dropped and some scenery of that extension might have to be changed in the 1.40 compatible version. So yeah, go ahead, find the new download link on the first page - and as always - if you find bugs, please report them...

Norway was already one of the most breathtaking places to drive for me, with ProMods' addition making it even greater, but this, man... That feeling when I started from Tana Bru and drove all the way to Nehamn, it's amazing. I can't wait to see your future additions to this mod, but the quality of your mapping is fantastic. Keep up the great work !

You just need one file - the one labelled "Nordkynvegen". It also contains the roads from the initial release (The roads to Vardø and Berlevåg).
Nice to hear that you like itjolakottur wrote: ↑07 Feb 2021 22:46[...]it's amazing. I can't wait to see your future additions to this mod, but the quality of your mapping is fantastic. Keep up the great work !
