mod is no longer compatible with the 1.40 update release

This is expected. As the Compatibility page states, version 1.0.0 of ProMods Canada is compatible only with game version 1.39.x. We are already working on a compatibility update.

promods wont work with 1.40 till promods 2.52 comes out. to fix it go into betas in management and select 1.39. that will remove the 1.40 update and take u back to 1.39 till promods does an update. same with ETS2.
