ProMods 2.55 requires the Road to the Black Sea DLC, Beyond the Baltic Sea DLC, Italia DLC, Vive la France ! DLC, Scandinavia DLC, Going East! DLC and Euro Truck Simulator 2 v1.40 in order to work. The Iberia DLC and Special Transport DLC are both optional, but compatible.
The browser used in in this tutorial is Microsoft Edge.
This tutorial has been made using Fedora 34.
The installation process may vary a bit depending on ProMods version, the game version and your Linux distribution.
If your game crashes after installing try re-downloading the files.
If you have problems downloading the files try disabling your ad-blocker or using a different browser.

1. Downloading ProMods
1. Open https://download.promods.net. You should see the following page:
2. Click on "Click here to generate your def file". This will open a new tab so you can continue your installation. Please keep first tab open!
3. Choose the settings you want. They have pretty explanatory names and descriptions, so I will not cover each of them in this tutorial.
4. OPTIONAL: If you want to use other map mods along with ProMods, check the first checkbox.
5. OPTIONAL: If you own Special Transport DLC and want to be able to take Special Transport tasks, check the second checkbox. Without it Special Transport will not be avialable ingame.
Please do not check this checkboxes if you don't want to use other map mods/don't own Special Transport DLC.
6. Finally, click the "Generate" button in the bottom of the page. Your browser will download the def file after that, save it to the folder you have easy access to. We will assume this folder as <your home folder>/Downloads/ProMods.
7. You may close the def file generator tab and return to the installation wizard. Proceed to Step 2.
8. Choose the standard download.
9. Download all eight files into folder you saved your def file to.
NOTE 1: When you click the link, the new tab will open. You may see the following message:
If you see this message, disable your ad blocker. This process depends on extension you use, here is example with Adblock Plus:
Please also note that some VPN extensions provides ad blocking functionality, so check them also if download don't start.
Also some browsers provide built-in ad blockers, so check your browser documentation in order to find the ad blocker control panel and disable it on ProMods site
NOTE 2: Please keep in mind that you can download only 2 files at the same time!
2. Downloading ProMods Addons (Optional)
If you want to download ProMods Cabin Accessories Pack (requires Cabin Accessories DLC), Middle East Add-On Pack (requires all current map DLCs, Iberia is not required) or Trailer & Company Pack (requires Scandinavia and Going East! DLCs), follow the instructions below. If not, skip this section and proceed to checksum validation.
1. Go to https://www.promods.net/addon.php (or select "Add-ons" in the top menu bar.). You can also follow the links that I left two lines above.
2. Download latest add-on versions (marked in green).
Make sure you have correct ETS2 version!
The download process is similar to the downloading of the main files and will not be covered here, please follow the installer instructions.
3. Checksum validation
The method described below can be used instead of TestFiles, as it supports only Windows.
1. Open Terminal
2. Paste the following commands into terminal and execute it (change the directory to that you need):

4. Unpacking of the mod

This step may vary depending on your Linux distribution.
Extract promods-v255.7z.001 file and addons archives (if need). In my case, I need just to open the files with doubleclick or extract archive with Ark.
After extraction move your def file to promods-v255 folder. You will receive four folders as shown below:
Next, move all .scs files to folder

5. Installing the mod
Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and select "Mod Manager".
Make sure that there is no older versions of ProMods loaded (present in right column). To unload the old ProMods file, simply doubleclick it.
Load all ProMods file by doubleclicking it. It is recommended to add Definition Package last.
