6 verb endings? You forgot all the different tenses there are, each of them with different endings. Reminds me very much of Latin…uk_daf_fan wrote:Hmm think I'll stick to Spanish, and most people in my class thought six verb endings were difficult

If you wonder why Finnish nouns can have so many forms it's all because of little suffixes. Even without any suffixes nouns have 15 cases. You can find them by pressing Ctrl+F. Note that not all of these can be found. That list is incomplete.
Possessive suffixes are:
Other suffixes
You can get many forms when you combine these together therefore the words can sometimes get very long;
"epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkäänköhän".
And that's just one word. Do you want to see some very long compounds?
Possessive suffixes are:
Code: Select all
-ni mine
-si yours
-nsa his/her
-mme ours
-nne yours
-nsa their
Code: Select all
-ko,-kö Turns it into question
-kin As "Also" or "too" in English
-kaan,-kään Same as -kin but used in negative sentences
-pa,-pä Arguing or reinforcing meaning
-han,-hän Several meanings and it depends on the situation. Can't always be translated directly.
"epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkäänköhän".
And that's just one word. Do you want to see some very long compounds?

Also Finnish is pretty fun language to translate. Same word can have different meanings. Here is an example:
The spruce is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
The spruce returns. = Kuusi palaa.
The number six is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
The number six returns. = Kuusi palaa.
Six of them are on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
Six of them return. = Kuusi palaa.
Your moon is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
Your moon returns. = Kuusi palaa.
Six pieces. = Kuusi palaa.
EDIT: Added a picture in order to clarify.
The spruce is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.

The number six is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
The number six returns. = Kuusi palaa.
Six of them are on fire. = Kuusi palaa.
Six of them return. = Kuusi palaa.
Your moon is on fire. = Kuusi palaa.

Six pieces. = Kuusi palaa.

I just wonder why I always read this as paala instead of palaa.
As long as you know what you are saying…

Hey, I know it!ETS2-User wrote:As long as you know what you are saying…
I'm saying
a) The spruce is on fire.
b) The spruce returns.
c) The number six is on fire.
d) The number six returns.
e) Six of them are on fire.
f) Six of them return.
g)Your moon is on fire.
h) Your moon returns.
i) Six pieces.
at once
Alright then xD
The spruce returns… D:
And number 6 as well… could be the title of a bad movie
And the finnish people wouldn't have any idea what the film is about.
