When I was exploring the updated Vaduz I stumbled on a situation when AI truck with a trailer moved too close to the center, and the trailer collided with AI driving the opposite direction. (I remember, a similar issue has been reported for one of the Finnish cities.) The collided truck and minivan on the screenshot were moving bit by bit (moved, touched again, stopped, blinked the turning lights, then tried to move a bit further, touched once more, and so on). Finally they disengaged — I took the screenshot shortly before that, but if there were more traffic it would be quite a jam! :)

Code: Select all

 1.81, Vaduz, AI trailer crossed delimiter while turning ; [07/12/2014 02:14] (sec-0001+0004);-3766.95;46.5747;18961.7

You mean, there's no information stored about how AI should move? Maybe there are some flags like "take more to the right" which are just not set for this place (and those vanilla places as well)? I have an impression that there are tight turns in other cities which don't have such problem. (I may be mistaken, though, I didn't investigate it thoroughly…)

P.S. I found that former report about a similar problem, it's in Mikkelli: http://www.promods.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4199

I don't think there is... They just follow the road, not aware of the trailer sticking out... It even happens with buses etc. (If you use Jazzycat mods etc.)

What I meant is rules for AI trucks — to keep closer to the external side of the turn so that trailer did not cross the opposite lane. I saw that on road crossings trucks behave differently — if the turn is wide, they just take it, and if turn is narrow they go forward and then make a sharp turn. So I supposed there might be some customizable option for roads too.

Well, if this is not possible, OK, I'll keep that in mind.

There can be seperate truck paths on prefabs, but not on regular road stretches. This bug can therefore not be fixed.

By the way, welcome to the problem every trucker has with sharp curves :P
