How to add custom models?

You will have to get a 3D model software to do that. Don't have any good tutorials on it, or convert the 3D model to a model that can fit in the game.

You need Blender to make 3D models. Then use a blender to SCS plugin.

OK, I downloaded the Blender and the SCS addon, but what to do next with that .zip file?

I don't actually know how to model. Thats basically all my knowledge. Check on the SCS Forum. I'm sure someone will help here or there

I Have a problem. I did everything and when I saved it, i put it into a .scs file, ran it as a mod, but it says that it is in "Read Only Mode" I get the message

[fs] Failed To Open File "map/test.mbd" in the read_only mode.

Any help would be appreciated, because I really want to start creating custom maps

It means that it can't read the map.

Are you sure you put it correctly in the SCS archive?

You need to keep the base file structure so map/test

Yeah, i think so... I put all of the files extractor from the scs extractor and the .mbd and folder in the file.
