Some of you guys may have struggles with starting the map editor. Watching the intro, need to type edit europe.
There is an easier way to acces it, by just making a shortcut. You just need to add a few tags on the path. These are the tags:
-unlimitedlog -nointro -homedir -force_mods -edit europe.
These are commands you usually put in the console, now it will run automatically.
Where do you need to add it? Behind the path of the goal of your shortcut:
Practically it skips the intro and it brings you to the editor automatically. And since 1.19 update there's no need to set a standard resolution since the editor will open in a seperate window.
How to easily acces the map editor
I have a problem, after going back to Win 8.1 from Win 10 - the map editor don't work, I mean, it don't save, even if I use "Run As Administrator", why this is happening?
It writes "Failed to mount the base in read-write mode - the map IS NOT saved."
It writes "Failed to mount the base in read-write mode - the map IS NOT saved."

Did you also untick the read-only checkbox, that may cause the problem as wellDeusHorizon wrote:I have a problem, after going back to Win 8.1 from Win 10 - the map editor don't work, I mean, it don't save, even if I use "Run As Administrator", why this is happening?

Hello, I am having some issues with starting the map editor. If I type "edit" or "edit europe" in the console it (sometimes) writes "water level unregistered (0)", goes into a black background and after about a minute, crashes. I followed a few guides and have everything set up with base files and stuff but it isn't working...
make "base" folder in the main ETS2 folder and you need to write "edit europe"
...Or the mod block itself to don't let you to edit..

I already have a base/map directory in the main ETS2 folder made. It's not letting me start the map editing at all.
