If you have a recent nVidia video card, you can use EVGA PrecisionX to have an on-screen FPS display, as well as control advanced features on the video card, monitor temps, et cetera.

I'm pretty sure that this thread was supposed to be about ETS2 1.9, not ProMods 1.9…

I'm having troubles with FPS as well. Without ProMods the game runs smoothly with nearly maximum graphics settings, but with ProMods activated, the game becomes unplayable. Lowering the settings does pretty much nothing. I have AMD FX-8350 CPU and nVidia GTX 960 Gaming GPU, Windows 7 64-bit and latest versions of both ProMods and ETS2. Graphic card drivers are up to date.

The question is, will this issue be fixed in future versions? Because I really wouldn't want to let go of ProMods, but this issue leaves me no choice. And it indeed seems like I'm not the only one with these issues with FPS. With earlier versions of ProMods the game worked like a charm.

Hi

I also experience this on my geforce 970 and i7 (dont remeber now the seies but the cheapest 2011-v3 socket one :) ) game is not unplayable but there is serious reduction in framerate on some places, have lowered graphicssettings but that doesent seem to really do very much, it hapens often in builtup areas so i start to suspect game engine limitations? my old rig that had a 680 geforce and an at the time rather upmarket i7 performes the same i would say running ets2, its a bit strange at least

Oki i think i actually managed to solve this (lag) at least on my rig : i edited the refresh option from 60 hz to default refreshrate in video settings, i also luanched the game wit the old -mm_pool_size 1500 option but i think that one is decrepit so i think the refreshrate is the one that made the difference, dont understand why because my display runs at 60 hz (the one option i hadent changed was the refresh, found about it in a a steam forum post )

And how do you think telling that the game runs well with your rig will help those who are having these issues? Or are you maybe suggesting that we are imaginating the whole thing?

I tried those tricks that hahnson mentioned, unfortunately they didn't work for me. Not sure but I think the game runs slightly smoother when I run it with OpenGL (64 bit), but still not well enough. And once again, without ProMods activated the game works like a dream with almost full settings.

As others have reported, the framedrop issue is emphasized in Iceland (near Akureyri), where the FPS drops below 5 with my rig.

Well it just might be an issue with your PC rather than the game
For ProMods you should aim on recommended rather than minimum specs

My old PC did an awfull job and the specs is not really lowend on paper
The change in performance is better than I'd expected

When I updated and all drivers my card supports DX11 and i don't know why but graphic is gorgeous. FPS is on level 42-22 in all locations on map and cities. Only in some cities where is a huge part assets and improvements like a company in one place have a 17 FPS. In danger low level is 12 on my old windows 7 but then i have 12 on roads and cities 3-4FPS. . I have suggest for all this 1.96 map not add nothing big so when you have issue with FPS you must think download or not. New release has twice bigger size file and i don't know why. Optimization must be right now not on next time.
