We have some nice vintage trains, but otherwise trains here are pretty bad :? But the California coastal train has very beautiful scenery.

A high speed rail is being built but it will take 10 or so years.

Also our trains are VERY slow....

The train network in the USA is more directed to freight, while in Europe, most train networks are mainly directed to passengers. Take for example Houston, Texas; it has a vast railway network and quite some freight terminals, yet only 1 passenger station (in a city of 2½ million people). The Randstad in the Netherlands is the opposite of that: lots of passenger railway lines and dozens of stations, but the freight transport will always play second fiddle and only a few dedicated freight lines are present.

The bottom line is that the two continents take a different approach when it comes to railway services.

The trains here are crap in the UK there all slow the fastest can only go 140 mph but that's only around London other European countries have faster trains like France, Germany even Italy also like 90% of the trains still use diesel you can only really find electric trains in the underground and again around London. The rail companies are planing to make the Great Western railway electric but it will probably take 20 years. Just go to London Paddignton station and all you can smell are diesel fumes from the trains

It's really embarrassing how a country that invented the railway and trains no longer has the most advanced trains
