do you also plan to include Siglufjördur or Raufarhöfn as long term plan?

yes these are just suggestions for your mapping. i thought both are enough away from cities and can be added in the far future.
that's great to hear! improving sounds very good!

I don't know if it is because the texture is low resolution or what, but the current snowy landscape looks like Graphics from the 1980s-1990s... like Nintendo 64 ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
But the other small details in the map make up for it
good job

1980s is a bit too harsh, but i get your point. Problem is that game is not suited to recreate snowy landscape. Lach of assets like proper textures and models makes it very hard to make nice and good looking landscape. I made some adjustments already and also by using many details like small rocks, bushesh etc I hope you can see on latest screenshots that it's getting better. But you also have to remember that we are small team of people that sped their free time on this and we can't make all assets we would want to.
Here you can see how hard it is to make snowy landscape. I took random landscape, not detailed one, and made it green. Bushes, grass. All this looks really good (prend 2 minutes on this), but with plain snow... yeah as I said I get your point.

Before we start to discuss winter landscapes a reference from Iceland is needed

I really don't see how it can be done differently with current game engine?
Other countries on the map is also far from perfect
Roads through dense forrests is also impossible to recreate satisfactory![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

The main issue i see here is the way two different surfaces collide in snowy areas. Since the textures have different shades of white, they create a weird barrier, and lighting can make it even worse. Also the road should have a slightly snowy texture in snowy areas, just as shown on the picture plykkegaard posted.
And IMHO the snowy-physics areas should be removed, they don't really make sense. Instead i would prefer snowy roads everywhere, with slightly altered physics. But that's up to the devs![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
