Software like 3dsmax is able to convert all these textures into one what's called texture baking. It's a pretty simple method but setting it up right is very hard. It also creates messy textures since it redraws every face it finds (some models have over 10.000).
As for getting all the materials together it's always hard. I spend 1 hour yesterday on this model redoing it's uv maps and remapping them into one material.
