Upgrading your processor in that case would be throwing money in the trash. The performance difference is so small between the two, you won't notice it when playing. (less than 5%)
For the cost of the 4790K + motherboard you could have gotten a 980ti instead of 970, with the 980 ti outperforming the 970. Still this is not really necessary unless you're playing in really high resolutions, like 4K.

Save your money, with a 970 you'll be set for sure.

A GTX 980 and even 980Ti was too expensive for me but the 970 is in the perfect price range for me.

My video card is also EVGA, but there really isn't much difference between it and the MSI version. I do highly recommend trying out the ShadowPlay recording option.

I recently switched from the MSI GT 640 1GB to the PNY GTX 750 Ti OC 2GB. The PNY is faster and more energy efficient on the Maxwell platform. A higher base/boost clock speed and a higher memory clock on my card contribute to a higher framerate on the card; that is what is important performance-wise. More RAM does not necessarily mean better performance, with the exception of using 2+ monitors.

That's true. I have a bit too much RAM though, up to 12GB. That is actually enough for all the games i am playing.

This is how my new GPU will be

I'm very limited on expandability because I use a dual core cpu, and use only one monitor. The excess RAM is used solely as a reserve for rendering on additional screens when needed. Clock speeds are the most important factor in GPU selection.

Wow i really love PostNord Logistics. My graphics card and my new PSU is already arrived in my homecity, travelled all the way from Sandefjord, 120 km south of Oslo. It has travelled over 1300 km and it took only two days. Let you guys out tomorrow when i am going to install it in my computer :)

My first reaction to the trailer developers: What on earth is that.
Also the color is strange.
