Linköping - Zoetermeer: 1271 km
Linköping - Kiruna: 1430 km

Note that all distances are by car. Heck, even by airplane it's further away (also due to the fact that Linköping - Amsterdam is with a jet plane and Linköping - Kiruna is by a prop plane): 1:45 hours + 1 hour by train vs. 5:40 hours.

Sweden is really big...
aaand then you have Norway ::)
E6, basically the main transport artery of Norway, is over 2600km long, and that is Svinesund-Kirkenes, not including the part going south of Svinesund.
I live in Narvik BTW, about 3 hours drive from Kiruna :)

Dear Ostpuff!

First of I wanna thank you for doing the northen bit of sweden. I reeeeaaaally appreciate the work you do.

Second: I like the plan you have but there's one thing I will miss if you go EXACLTY like the plan. I would miss: Sälen, and the nice scales there. If you like the idea but you don't want to do it, I would like to help this bit: https://www.google.se/maps/dir/60.69310 ... 346245!3e0.

Even if I sounded like a "sissy" I hope you understand me....

Edwin_B, road 66 to Norwegian boarder would be nice.
Sveg?! Argh!
That's the place I sort of have been toying with a little bit in the map editor, but taken a break from it since early august.

Wishlist for the future. E45 from Göteborg and north.

This autumn, Road 66, northern crossing of Nyhammar
South of it they are orange and white, north of it they are blue and white
Looking at google maps streetview, spring 2010 it was the same.

I just took a road from Malung to Sveg just to pair it with the original plan. But... I think it should be nice to take road 66 from Malung to Hamar in Norway and then down to Oslo: https://www.google.se/maps/dir/Malung/6 ... 094684!3e0

Even if it is a little bit of "detour", I think it should be pretty cool... :D

Edit: Of course you got to think of: "Is this road needed for the map, Do any transport got to go that way?" If you think of that you can just do the way from Oslo up to Hamar to Stöten and then up to Sveg instead: https://www.google.se/maps/dir/59.91755 ... 346245!3e0

And sry for my English... if it wasn't full correctly.... :|

I appreciate the feedback but mind you that inland Sweden is still not in development because of some change in plans during development.
Gävle and Sundsvall are both completed and I'm currently working towards Umeå, though due to lack of time the city itself will have to wait until future releases.

The plan is in the future to connect the E16, Rv70, E14, E12 and E10 to Norway but no one is working in Norway at the moment. I have no plans for Rv66 but it's not impossible.

That will come with a rebuild of Göteborg which I plan to start after 2.0.

Hope this cleared some things up, and I'm sorry for the lack of updates, been a bit busy lately but I will do my best to post updates more often in the future...

Good to hear that it isn't impossible 'cause I would like Sälen and you know... the nice scales...
But of course Gävle and Sundsvall is a great start... :P

A shame no one is working on Norway, perhaps one of my favorite countries in ETS2.

Oh well, regardless, the work on Sweden so far looks superb! Hopefully once some projects are finished up (Iceland, ARP) devs can be allocated to you and the Scandinavian team.

Ostpuff, just work in the pace you feel comfortable.
And update whenever you want :)
Sundsvall complete? sweet!

Sveg, I started learning map editing with that city/crossing. Map mod works, or atleast worked in early august, but l still sadly lack editing skills.
My plan was "or is, someday?" to learn and become better and be a help in expanding Sweden.
Ok, in short: planning a small city is a pain in the ass. I think. Should be simple tho.

Would love to se Härnösand as one of the so called smaller towns 1-2 companies.

Härnösand will not have any companies in the city, it will scenery-only. I might assign a farm to it, but nothing is guaranteed.

Anyhow, here are some pics from Härnösand:

Road in the last pic won't be accessible but I thought I'd show it anyways ;)
