I have not encountered anything like this before, but since I don't know what OpenGL is I'm not sure what to say about it!

OpenGL is a rendering format like DirectX.
Only Windows computers can use DirectX and all other operating systems are forced to use OpenGL.
However, based on discussions over the years here on the ProMods forums, OpenGL tends to be very picky about file names and other settings.
If things aren't within the parameters that OpenGL expects, then things get weird like black "trays" from a shadow or outright game crashes.

Too low shadow settings, mod conflict, old mod and so on, without game log is impossible to guess..

This is most definitely shadow-related, if it's an annoyance, just disable the shadows completely in the graphic and display settings of the game. That's what I did and no more black trays under any vehicle, AI or otherwise. It's one pesky bug that SCS missed during its development.

Since few weeks i had same problem, i readed you and now when i open ets2 with directx , it's fixed !

Today I reinstalled promods pack and I have an issue with one specific cargo...don't know if it affects others. There's a black shadow under the cargo. I'm playing the game in OpenGL mode and I'm only using promods trailers and companies pack. No truck mods are activated.

@Josh0 I could, but I get much worse performance playing with DirectX. To sum up, if I choose DirectX the game refuses to run with dedicated graphic card and it runs with integrated, resulting in very bad performance. Its a specific problem with my system. I have tried in many ways to address this problem but so far I have no clue about how to fix it.
