Normally you don't need a new profile for any ProMods update. Old one should work fine. Never had any problems like this before.
Maybe it's different since I've never used ProMods before, most people are probably doing just that updating from a previous version.

When I first installed ProMods, it was also on a Vanilla Profile with lik 60k km before and it worked fine. Maybe try reinstalling th base game file and test it agaim.

Seems I managed to fix it. In the save I tried to load I had my Truck parked in Uppsala (Sweden). I moved my Truck to Kiel (Germany) saved the game, reenabled ProMods and loaded my new save.
Seems having the Truck Parked in Uppsala causes the game to crash. Well it's on the "border" where new content is added.
