I see this alot in the Netherlands:

Truck overtake. The truck on the left lane turns on the right indicator. As soon as he passed the right truck the right truck will flash his lights so the truck on the left lane moves over.

And ofc after the overtake the truck from the left lane will flash left right left with his indicators.

Going back to UKTS again, it was common in that game for the truck behind to flash at night if they intended to overtake you.

At least in ETS2 now most AI will slow to let you out once you start indicating (but still don't when you're changing lanes :( ).
And they seem to have developed a bad habit of pulling to the right from in front of you into a merge lane, then almost immediately moving back when they realize they've got to move left :o .

:) All very interesting stuff Guys! It does go to show, that we have a lot in common, but also that we have many interesting differences too!
Using hazards to say thanks Jan, isn't intended to be a lazy man's option; more so, if you're in heavy traffic it's a quicker way to say thanks, for example; to a driver who lets you out into the flow of traffic, having been parked at the roadside doing a delivery! This method is quite common with bus/coach drivers in the UK too.

As for driving at night, it's generally accepted as a quiet time, so it is the best time for many UK haulage companies to go about their work with minimum delays to schedules.

Keep those wheels turning! :D

Just as a matter of interest, has anyone noticed that the AI traffic stops actually ON the round about to let you out, when it is you who is supposed to give way to them while waiting behind the stop lines on the approach road!?
That's not meant to happen is it? :?

Well, that's just the crazy AI for you  . For instance, sometimes they respond well to your indicators, other times they act like you're not even there

Give it 10 years and your dad will be using your stuff, example:

Me: "I seem to have misplaced my black T-shirt, have you seen it?"

My dad: "No, you really should pay more attention to where you put stuff."

At this point I notice he's wearing it...
