There should be no difference between the game_data files (which is the critical difference)
The rest of the def pack is somewhat different
File promods- def - v198

Hmm, ok thanks ScuL,
It could be something to do with how I download and deploy the files, I have a separate folder on a different drive where I store all my ETS2 mods after I have downloaded them, each in their relevant folders/directories, So in this case, I download the archives to my ets2-mods/promods-v1.98 folder, whether it be the free or paid option and then do the extraction using 7-zip which generates the map, model, and assets .scs files along with the def files one of which I rename to promods-def-v198-no-rusmap.scs, I then copy and paste all the .scs file to my mod folder, and then once copied I do a quick open archive in 7-zip on the unlocked files to make sure they contain data, then I fire up the game and start adding the mods if necessary to the relevant profile and sorting them in order of priority, so non-RusMap def file is added to my promods only profile, and the with-RusMap def file is added to my career profile, in my mod manager with pm 1.97 I used to get 2 promods definition files, if I clicked on the information icon one would show up as promods-def-v198.scs for the package name and the other would read as promods-def-v198-no-rusmap.scs.
Hmm perhaps I should adjust the manifest.sii file to reflect the file name, is it possible that the mod manager is reading both as promods-def-v198.scs and so only allocating one slot to it ?
What are your thoughts
jwd.

Before you change anything, try opening the def scs files with 7-zip and see if you press the TEST button. If it completes without errors the files are good.

Both of the def files tested ok ScuL so why only one shows up in the mod manager is a bit of a mystery, however I have noticed that in both my promods 1.98 only profile, and my career profile which has poland rebuilding and rusmap the maps appear with no offset, so it does seem to be working ok, just not appearing in the mod manager.
