It's mostly the edge of a city with industrial areas so you're not driving into the actual city center...

One thing you have to beware of is that the place is quite flat so you have to cover quite some space when look at the horizon...
PS: Mandelsoft; do you have some tips for optimisation? Like the cut planes function which I'm not really familiar with...
