My personal opinion is that it is easier to see which file is a mod and which isn't. :P

Nico wrote:Good question... Pre ETS2 the game couldnt read the zip's and it couldn't read compressed archives.

Now it basically reads any zip file.
This was probably done when the game went cross-platform to make development on different systems easier. For example, every system knows how to open a zip file by default, but only Linux people can open rars without another utility. It's easier this way for people across all operating systems supported by the game. If you know anything about compression algorithms, scs archives behave a lot more like zips than they do rars.

I think - this post should be updated to 2.0........
Mom says to son.
Hey son - can you go to the shop and buy the milk, if they have eggs - buy six.
Sure.
Son goes to the shop and buys six packs of milk and goes back home.
Why did you buy six packs of milk?
Because - they had eggs. And you told me to buy six - if they had eggs.

I think that's a lot of work without any use. A list of content can be found on the compatibilty page and a map in the Q&F forum.

Yeah, it is... I tried to update it. But it is even more work then my own map-view is :P

So no, I don't think anyone will keep this up-to-date. It really is -a lot- of work.

Some say, I'm addicted to ETS2. But then I say. No, it's ProMods, it's a way of life.
No. 3 forum spammer!

You want a game map?
You get a game map! (ETS2 (WIP))
You get a game map! (ATS (WIP))

The passenger line Esbjerg - Harwich might not be closed forever, other companies are interested

Schedule for Esbjerg - Immingham
http://freight.dfdsseaways.com/dfds_fer ... m_ferries/
Sorry but this is incorrect. There is no longer any frequent scheduled service for roro traffic direct from Harwich to Esbjerg, in the same way that there is no longer a ferry from Newcastle to Norway. I believe there are some shipments of trade cars at times, but that is all (except perhaps specialist shipments of things like paper). All roro traffic bound for Esbjerg now has to go through immingham (over 200 miles North of Harwich) or Purfleet (operated by ClDN roro this service takes some 40 hours to make each crossing and operates twice a week). Of course there is also the option of going through Holland which apparently can be quicker for many shipments anyway.

As for restoration of the passenger service from Harwich, it is highly unlikely unfortunately. No credible operator is interested in the link, and the main campaign for its restoration is headed by a 14 year old boy. Passenger figures where very poor and declining on the route, while costs kept increasing (the crossing also requires significantly more fuel than the alternatives). Most of the freight has transferred to the Immingham to Esbjerg route anyway. It is also possible for trucks to sail from Immingham to Gothenburg, Brevik, and Kristiansand as well as Zeebrugge etc. Immingham is actually the UKs largest port by tonnage so it makes a lot of sense for it to be the focus of the roro links to Scandinavia. The U.K. To Norway passenger ferry appears to have a brighter future, but it is increasingly unlikely that Newcastle will be the UK port.

True, this ferry service used to make a stopover in Helsingborg (which is the Helsingborg-Oslo route on the map), but not anymore.
