One can enter these characters by holding down Alt and typing their (extended) ascii code. E.g. Alt+132 = ä.Purno wrote: Perhaps key combinations like " + A work? ( Shift ' ) + ( Shift a )

That too, but ascii-codes are more difficult to remember than key-combinations like " + A. (Because if you know how to do Ä, you also can do ä, ë, Ë, ï, Ï, ü, Ü, ö, Ö, and ÿ without looking up and remembering additional ascii codes (It only took me a few seconds to type all those weird letters).)Jan Verschueren wrote:One can enter these characters by holding down Alt and typing their (extended) ascii code. EDIT: Give it a try if these work for you, not sure how many different keyboards there are, but I've got a QUERTY-keyboard. These keycombinations are likely software based though, with any luck, in Windows itself.

...And Uppsala is labeled as Upsalla. (And that one doesn't even have an umlaut )Chrischrill wrote:On that same topic, Nynäshamn is mislabelled as Nymashamn.Maximate wrote:In the list reads Hameenlinna and Jyvaskyla when it should be Hämeenlinna and Jyväskylä?

This german "ü" is the only one I need to "create" by my own... alt + button left of enter (whatever it's called? ) then u. (atleast on my "qwerty" euro based keyboard)
But it also works for ö & ä as well. (just to let you know)

NOTE: Romania and Poland not included since I don't know the planning details of those two projects yet.
