only want others to tell them what to do
Yes, that´s how the system works. ;) But joke aside and to be fair, according to experience most germans neither don´t speak / understand english nor they know how to use the online translation tool. So a large part of the german community isn´t aware of latest developements regarding mods very often.

best regards

Adding my input to this topic, there are always some ''green'' users who just don't ask and don't tell instead of blindly doing something. That rule applies for all users, not just German.

Anyway, back to what's really important here... 8-)

Project Balkans is a small addon for ProMods.
Next version of ProMods will cover the same area as Project Balkans and even more.
1st time I've really looked forward to an update!

Huh, I always thought that because they're part of the EU, and English is a second language for the EU, that they would speak or understand english.

Nope. This differs a lot from region to region. In the Netherlands and in the Nordic countries, you can get around with English just fine. But if you go to Hungary, for instance, or the Czech Republic outside of Prague, you will have a lot more trouble.

Still, English is your best bet. Here are the stats for other major European languages you may know:

And to complete the story, here's where the polyglots live:

Right, now back to topic!

I see the big black hole that is Switzerland, either that, they don't report their statistics. It is interesting to see how many languages someone can speak in some of the countries.

Or Switzerland is just not a member of the EU. ;)

Switzerland prefers neutrality, perfectly understandable. Just because it isn't a member of the EU, doesn't mean that it's underdeveloped or lazy. They have three major linguistic zones, French, Italian and German, with another older language, Romanic or Ladin, also divided by cantons. The Swiss handle English just as their own three domestic groups. They have to, it's the language of trade, also their banking skills are among the best in the world. Proven many times.

As for the previous statement and map by Mandelsoft, some people usually stay in their own comfort zone, it's difficult to leave it behind and learn new skills or expand horizons, whatever those may be. :D

Would it be very wrong of me to express surprise that the number for the UK on the last map is that high?
