ProMods is free, because paid mods are illegal, simple as that. Whether you donate or use the paid download is entirely up to you. We don't host the paid download server, so we don't see the money you pay there. So no, you are not our customer.
I will just leave this here for a few moments.

I dont care if promods cost money or not, if i like something i pay for it, but this answer somehow tilted me a small bit.

So why you place the mod to it then? If you dont see the money you just giving it to someone else. Place it on google or dropbox - same stuff (you wont get anything but ppl can download without much waiting and ooga booga)

Have you ever tried putting 1541MB on a Google Drive or Dropbox without splitting it into a million parts and taking much longer to download than the free downloads we have currently? Trust me, we use the best ways we can to distribute the mod.

yep i did on google drive but not 1541mb, 2170mb avi video (ok for a test i uploaded whole mod to google drive (single archive), it took 7 minutes to upload and i + 2 my friends from different cities and 1 guy from Israel downloaded it for less than a 6 minutes. My download speed was 11 Mbps)
I mean no offence about distributing because i pay for everything worth to pay, i mean if you dont get money for paid host - so why host it there? Its not offending me im kinda offended that you dont get money for your mod through that host.

Google Drive is able to host big files indeed, but Google will block the download pretty quickly. It's not supposed to be a file hosting website. You can share your fiels with few friends, but not with thousands of users. If Google sees a big load on this file, it won't allow downloading it anymore and our players will complain that they can't download it.

Actually, Payloads only takes a third of that single dollar. We can keep the rest to pay for our servers and they aren't cheap. Think of a three-figure price tag on a monthly basis.

As for hosting it on i.e. Google Drive or Dropbox; sure you can host and download it from there, but file size is not the key limitation here; bandwidth is. It's not a problem when only one person downloads a mod from there. But IIRC, they both allow a few gigabit bandwidth per day, so that means only a handful of people could download our mod per day. On our current server, we can handle hundreds of downloads in a day and we own these servers ourselves. As our previous download distributors were constantly being taken down by ... vengeful people, this is the only option for the free download we have left.

I think it's time to go back to the topic because this has taken away to discussion about download instead about Special Transport DLC compatibility.

Can escorts direct us into wrong way of highways in ETS2 implementation of oversize cargo routes? It is sometimes done IRL.
