At 80 letters, the longest word ever composed in German is Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft, the "Association for Subordinate Officials of the Head Office Management of the Danube Steamboat Electrical Services".

The longest word in the Oxford Dictionary of English is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis - at 45 letters. Its definition is "an artificial long word said to mean a lung disease casued by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust.

In truth, there is very little "English" in English! Most words are heavily "borrowed" from elsewhere...

Irrespective of origins, the word is cited in the Oxford English Dictionary as English.

I speak fluently Romanian (since I'm Romanian), Italian and English. I speak French a bit. I'm currently learning German. I'd love to learn Russian and one of the Scandinavian languages.
and the Italian official longest word is "precipitevolissimevolmente" it has 26 letters which i have no idea what it means :D
Driving a Mercedes-Benz truck somewhere in Germany while listening to Rammstein is an amazing combination :D

The English language is composed of a majority of French, Greek, Latin, with some Arabic and various Indian languages thrown in. There is only one Finnish word in the English language; Sauna.
