It's the day: the big end day of the Svalbard challenge! Is it possible for a Renault truck to make it up to the satellite systems, on top of the ice road?

Well, we're not there yet. Here in Murmansk, I found a cargo to Kirkenes.

Image
It was rather urgent so we're driving full speed!

Image
A nice cistern trailer, containing fertilizer. Better drive carefully because crashing this thing will make a big mess!

Image
It's midnight but the sun stays orange like it's beautiful!

Image

Image
And suddenly, there was a small detour.

Image
A beautiful snow mountain...

Image
Anyone interested in some old cars? :D

Image
Image
Beautiful scenery.

Image
The small town of Nikel.

Image
Nearing the Norwegian border...

Image
Totally Russian.

Image
The sun is becoming less orange, which means it's getting morning.

Image
A lake and a big climb!

Image
The Russian border!

Image
And the Norwegian border!

Image
And a bridge!

Image
Freight delivered.

Image
Nice sign :)

Image
...so, are you ready?

Image
Wait a bit more because I found some cargo we can take with us :)

Image
The endless sea

Image
This shortcut went well :D

Image
You're gonna take THAT to Svalbard? Lol...

Image
The ferry...

Image
We're on Svalbard!

Image
Delivered!

Image
The original plan was to reach Moskushamn, so this picture marks the completion of the Svalbard challenge!

Image
But then I found this ice road.... Which made me think I can complete the challenge more.

Image
At this point, the Premium really struggled with finding grip. I was going to call it a day and claim that we had to sacrifice our brave little Renault to Svalbard.....

....but that would be giving up, after 6,172 km of driving, and so many countries, is this the end of the Svalbard Challenge?

...of course not!

Image
Meet "Pirelli Winter Tire Premium Snow Edition"!!!

Image
...and guess what, with some keeping up, and almost blowing the gearbox....

Image
...We made it!!

I've completed the Svalbard challenge!

p.s. not sure what will happen to this thread, maybe I will make more Svalbard related pictures here or you can use it.

The Renault made it!
I have a lot more respect for the Premium which will now be the brave little brother of the amazing upcoming Range T!

See ya!

I'm tempted to do the same with the butt-ugly Magnum

Eh, blowing up gearbox in the 460 Premium, driving empty? :P Well, shame that Promods hasn't modelled the Oslofjord tunnelen. Its funny place to go with 33t tons of steel (48t combimass) and 430Dxi Premium.... 28km/h for 3 kilometers uphill. 8-)

Well done! I took a few screenshots on the way up from Slovakia but nothing that would make a story like yours. Thumbs up!

I feel quite tempted to something like this with my DAF. How long did it take you to complete it?

In-game 7-8 days

In real life a lot more, because of work and personal life ;)
