Sorry for the necro, but for all the saps like me unable to get this to work, this exceptionally vague and unhelpful post is actually a solution.
You find this setting in promods-def-st-v250.scs file (open with 7-zip or other archive reader) then open the def folder and in there open map_data.sii in notepad and change the lines "full_detail[4]: true"
and "full_detail[5]: true" to "full_detail[4]: false" and "full_detail[5]: false" and you won't crash while zooming in fully. I think this only happens if you try and use Promods 2.5 and Roextended 2.7 (maybe 2.4 as well) together. The Roextended forum offers a satellite map mod that contains this fix, but no way to use the default Promods map with this fix. For me I like the Promods map because it has the least noticeable alignment issues, even if the most eastern areas of end up in the black undefined areas I find that more acceptable than Israel being in the sea.
