I haven't heard such info so... I doubt Spain and Portugal can be next. Especially that it'd force some players to buy France DLC as dave1562 mentioned and I think SCS isn't that stupid ;)

Most likely the next DLC will be Italy as Promods have stopped almost all the work there and SCS made a new connection to France. Mandelsoft gave too much hints there... :)

How does merging maps work?

Well, you pick out the old sector that you want to use in the new mod. Then you use the sectors from the other one. Then you create a map mod. Then, you go to the editor, and then, you add roads in between the old and the new sectors. :P

I agree for Toulouse. The whole A62 and Toulouse area has been built with a lot of details, and still is one of my favorite parts of Promods (maybe because that's also the first area I helped with regarding development).

Bordeaux itself would be great too, until the Aquitaine Bridge. SCS's industrial area east of Bordeaux is extremely accurate and should be left as is. The other good side of Promod's Bordeaux is that the ring can lead us to Bayonne then Spain... still don't understand why this whole area has been left out.

Then it's just a matter of merging and thinking about what to fix on the map. The whole area around Lyon should be rebuilt, as well as a few things on the new map. But one thing at a time.

By the way, would you like some help regarding signs for France, like I did for Kutchek? France would definitely need some new and/or updated signs.

I sincerely hope most of Kutchek's areas get added back with reworked assets. It was no doubt the best part of ProMods once upon a time, and still remained my favourite, even if it wasn't up to scratch.

sticking to 1.25 beta till the dust settles :-)

I've been quiet lately because I'm spending more time in Blender School than driving my MB. I have a nice long delivery underway (Bilbao to someplace in Hungary) and when I need relaxation (when Blender has bent my brain into a pretzel in other words) I go back to the glorious summer highways of EuroTruck. It's -7C out IRL, crunchy snow, black ice, sunset at 1630. A little sunlight and a long day -- even the illusion -- are so welcome.

Dear devs: if I do eventually become competent at creating assets, what kind of assets are most wanted/needed?
