Arayas, Thanks for making a fix, but actually why was the fix necessary? For some reason it kept my game stuck in a "navigation cache loading vicious circle" upon every startup, something like this:

00:15:39.880 : <ERROR> Map link conflict for 0x46331C20A9800669, two items are probably using the same prefab, check city assignment, list follows
00:15:39.880 : <ERROR> item 0x46331C209580065D city 'rostov'
00:15:39.880 : <ERROR> item 0x46331C20A9800669 city 'rostov'

So I don't know if there is a mod conflict, but I edited the original def manifest to 1.44 and that problem doesn't occur. Map seems to run fine.
I've got the same problem, every startup got a re-cache of the game. I was getting crazy to discover which mod was doing that, till I read your post and understood that was the fix. Now I'm downloading again the original def, better deal with some crash if may occur than to wait 20 minutes everytime to play the game

Hello, what's the priority order to make Southern Region work properly ?
I've already downloaded Promods Europe and Rusmap, it works with both of them but after adding mods related with Southern Region, it crashes :(
Does it work with the 1.45 version of ETS2 ? Or do I need a file such as "Rusmap-Southern Region connection" ? (since there's a mod named "Promods-Rusmap connection")...

@ant06031
It's working fine if you replace the original DEF file by the fix edited

Southern Region Fix2 confirmed successful on my current map combo:

ETS1.45+PM2.62+PM MiddleEast+Finnmark+RusMap2.44+GreatSteppe2.0+SibirMap2.4+Ukraine0.9+RoadToAral+Maghreb0.3b

Thank you MXTrucker! This finally works. No map crash and no navigation update loop!

With RusMap 2.45 being released, your fix no longer works. (Navigation update on every start)

I hope SR will get a major update soon, and some cleaning up. There is zillions of textures included which are not used on the map.

As this map has a lot of issues (textures without mipmaps), it suffers from lowered visual quality (Sharp edges, flickering textures and trees popping up).
I have started converting all textures to include mipmaps, but as I'm yet to find an automated script doing that for me, it takes days doing it manually due to the sheer amount of gigabytes of redundant textures included.

Edit: 10,205 texture files - just converting all to correct DXT5 MipMap format by hand :)

This map won't be updated anytime soon as stated in their VK page. Author is busy with real life and doesn't go online since months

Currently I'm playing Southern Region as a standalone on a separate profile due to its map/connection issues with RusMap 2.45.

It's such a beautiful route, the forest, the serpentines... awesome. After updating the textures (my hand is still hurting because of 10 thousand times double click - Ctr+S - click OK - next :) ) it looks a lot better now and the textures are now filtered properly in the distance, and signs being more legible.

I hope MXTrucker releases a new fix to connect it to RusMap - I'm lacking the skills to do that yet.

Thanks for the heads up, it is working perfectly now. It seems the reason was one of my own mods, still checking that, but everythins fine now!
