Development on version 1.x (Finland - Project Napapiiri)

Objective is to go until Arctic Circle (Napapiiri in finnish). So, Rovaniemi will be included, but not in first version. This one should include Lahti, Hameenlinna, Tampere, Jyväskylä, Mikkeli, maybe Kuopio.

It would be cool to see some ski jumping hills.

It is nice to now that you are expanding the map to north of Finland and i cant wait when i can drive there i mean in the ETS2,
so that i can see if there are any places from the real life Lappland because i have been driving there too in the real life with my car.
And i also hope that you can use the arctic circle road sign beside the road in the correct place and you can see the road
sign in the picture with this message and do not forget to add some reindeers in to the forrest of north Finland .
So keep up the good work Platypus.
ps.Can you add the city of Vantaa to the map because the airport is not in Helsinki it is in Vantaa so the airport is now in the wrong city/place and Vantaa is north of Helsinki.

You are correct about that road sign it is nice and you can see signs like that in Lappland when you drive there in a car/truck in the roads of North Finland(mainly in some places in Lappland).
And in Finnish:olet aivan oikeassa tuo kyltti näyttää hyvälle ja tuollaisia kylttejä voit nähdä Lapissa ajaessasi siellä autolla/rekalla,
siis pohjoisen suomen teillä lähinnä lapissa joissain paikoissa.

Is it possible to change duration of day, but only near polar circle (polar day and night)?
I like to see landmarks in Helsinki. Will you Norway land border to Finland too?

Here a small update with answers to some questions/remarks. Thanks for all comments

- Tornio will be represented (maybe also as a small city) to mark the swedish border, but not in first version
In fact, it will take some time to make the long road between Jyväskylä and Oulu
- Pori will be included, not in first version but in a second time with Vaasa
- Napapiiri plate will be included. Also I went many times in Finland and Lapland
- Duration of day, sky jumps, seasons (snow) must be investigated to see what's possible in ETS2

Very pleased to see that Finland will finally be expanded beyond just Turku and Helsinki! It definitely needed to be expanded.

I think the thread already has cities covered, but just some small things I'd like to see:
- The signs should only be bilingual in the coastal regions (like Turku, Helsinki, and then Porvoo and Vaasa if those get built). Inland (even Tampere) the signs should only be in Finnish with no Swedish.
- The signs need to be legible! As they are right now, the print is way too small and very difficult to read while you're driving.
- A lot of traffic lights in Finland (although certainly not all of them) are horizontal rather than vertical. Would it be possible to develop these, similar to how the new Swedish traffic lights were made?

Hopefully you saw the first post with a picture of the new finish modulair signs.

The traffic light idea is very interesting and tempting. Haven't noticed that yet, is this specific for any regions or?
