Breech Loader wrote:SCS will probably only have half-a-dozen new cities in france, at least in comparison to previous updates, so don't worry about all your work being wasted. Apparently their big deal is their rework of Paris.

ProMods paris may need to be reworked considerably to merge, or thrown away altogether if SCS puts enough effort in.
There is no ProMods Paris, it is actually the original SCS Paris and it will definitely be thrown away.
SCS's DLC will be much larger than our France and use much better assets, so we will be using their work for the most part.

I think I counted 31 French cities in the patchnotes.

Ooooh... so they ARE putting more effort in.

*rubs hands*

Admittedly I feel a little bad for SCS because some people who like Promods so much might actually put off buying Vive La France until Promods is ready for the merge. I watched a demo of Beta and it includes things like better vegetation, toll booths and apparently pedestrians strolling in the cities.

Hey, now Promods can add toll booths!

Code: Select all

Batisse
Bordeaux
Bourges
Brest
Civaux
Clermont-Ferrand
Golfech
La Rochelle
Le Havre
Le Mans
Limoges
Marseille
Montpellier
Nantes
Nice
Orleans
Paluel
Rennes
Roscoff
Saint-Alban
Saint-Laurent
St. Céré
Toulouse
I think this is all of the new cities from the DLC (taking from patchnotes).

Few cities have definately been forgotten about, but now the variety of models available should bring the quality right up. I also bloody hope SCS have not forgotten about A75 and the iconic Millau Bridge.

Some of this will just be small villages that belong to big cities near them. Like Paris has two (Poissy and Gonesse).

So with these cities it's like that on the map:

That's actually a fairly dense map, especially by SCS standards. There's still a fairly large gap in the southeast (with perhaps room for Valence and Avignon), but I am very impressed and am looking forward to the eventual release and PM 3.0/2.2 updates for it.

I'm especially glad we're getting Marseille and Nice with new assets, but I'm not holding my hopes up for actual quality of cities.
