WTF? Oslo-Kirkenes. I have to leave Norway? Where's E6?
Being real here, taking the E6 rather than going through Sweden and Finland realistically takes about 12 hours longer anyways (~34hrs vs ~22) and is 700km longer distance-wise. I can understand that you'd like to stick to the E6 all the way but it's not like you're going to be taking a detour with the current available routes. (it's actually faster to go via Helsinki  )

That is very true. If in IRL i would drive from Oslo to Kirkenes, i would go over to Sweden, take the E4 up to Tornio and follow E75. Since i live so far north, taking the E6 would be shorter distance.

A new Kirkenes port, nothing else. :P
If I recall correctly, there is no ferry connection in real life from Kirkenes at all. Assumed there's a prefab or model, would it be possible to create a cargo plane that you can drive into at Kirkenes airport to reach Svalbard instead of a ferry? Certainly closer to reality

I don't agree with you. Well, a ferry connection doesn't exist IRL but I haven't ever seen any planes you can drive into with a truck. To be honest, fictive ferry connection is still more realisctic for me than some kind of ''air-ferry''.

I see your point. I've found proof though.

In reality of course a truck would deliver its cargo to an airport from where a plane delivers it to Svalbard. From that point another truck gets it to its destination. Since in ETS we effect the whole delivery to final destination, there's no other way than to "enter" the plane along with the cargo.

But this is only a delivery point. The game is not suited for air travel, so we'd have to use either a ferry or a train trigger, which wouldn't look and sound accurate at all. While it may not be as realistic using a ferry, functionality and coherence of the player's activities are a big point in our understanding of quality, so we'll probably stick to the ferry solution for now.

"Kidnap" the plane from ATS?
Or rather, do a variant of it?

Fantastic work! Will there be ETS2 1.30.x compatible version?

Hi,

this project is part of ProMods, so yeah, there will be a compatible version.

Best regards,

Would be an option, but if at all, that's up to dev's.

Btw, I just noticed while crossing the border to Russia at Kirkenes, there should be a switch to the Russian timezone. I suppose the game so far only supports this for Britain because it was included in vanilla? Is there a solution yet?

Edit: Nevermind, silly me, just found out, it's included in the game menu..
