Those teasers are depicting you are going north of Vancouver on BC 99 according to research via maps, and 1.40 has just released on American Truck Simulator. Any idea when the 1.40 compatibility patch will be out?

Ok no problem, I will have to disable promods when I boot up American truck sim next time I play it for the time being till the update is released. Thanks for the reply bmwGTR.

I'd say it'd be relatively soon. Nothing new has been added to the current map of ATS in 1.40 (the parts of the map that ProMods borders, specifically), so maybe within a month (maybe 2 if things go awry).

Sometimes the compability patches has been out within days. Other times, when map merging etc, it has taken much longer.
Black Sea took 4 months. Baltic almost 5, but that included reskins etc of older areas. France took less than 3 weeks. But those were with map DLC merges.
Version compability itself, that has been from 0 days to a few weeks.
But with this graphic update? We'll have to see.

To update the Canadian map to work do I need to redownload the files from the server and delete the original one?

Yes, you must. The old files are not automatically updated.
