Try the following:

1. Use the SCS extractor (available from the Euro Truck Simulator 2 website) to extract base.scs (just drag and drop the file onto the extractor).
2. Create a folder within your Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder named "base". This will be important when you want to save your map, because this is the folder where it dumps all the saved files in.
3. Open the directory "map" and copy "europe.mbd".
4. Go to My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/editor and paste europe.mbd there.
5. Start up the map editor and see if it worked.

Hi I'm new to map editing too & I wondered if anybody could tell me how to join one stretch of road to another & how to place traffic lights & signs etc on the map, it doesn't seem to work for me. This is on ATS btw.

Thx
