As far as I remember, it's blocked Drive this road a bit and you'll see. I wanted to report it too, months ago.

Abraxas doesn't like those barriers spoiling the view so often puts them a little way down the road. Sometimes there are some nice viewpoints down those roads too

Shouldn't the road then be longer on the GPS if the barrier is farther down the road?

No because there's no destination down that road, it's only for aesthetics. If a road isn't on the map but doesn't have a barrier it's usually a sign that there's no reason to go down there as far as delivering to your destination is concerned but there might be something interesting, at least as far as Iceland is concerned. In other countries a missing barrier is often a genuine bug.

In France it's common practice. There are "shortcuts" through towns but trucks aren't allowed to use it
