Is there any way of using the mod without going east and scandanavia? I dont really want to spend £30 on them.

There is an old version (1.91) which you may use without any expansions. However, it contains fewer content and it probably isn't compatible with the latest version of ETS2. You may use it with ETS2 1.16 or (with patch) with ETS2 1.18. You can find it in the Compatibility tab.

Ok, how do you change the version of ets2?

without steam because we have it on disk

You'll have to enter your activation key to steam then. That's the only option.
