Who knows? We don't know when SCS updates the map again.
With every update SCS brings, great changes may come too. Which makes us releasing a compatibility update again.
1.90 for instance, was updated 8 times before we released 2.00 because of SCS updates.

Is there a reason why SCS release updates that crash the map mods like ProMods? Are they trying to improve their vanilla map?

Yes they are, they also release updates to improve overall game play and/or performance, which may break mods too.
