Yes, reason is old game engine wich is heavily modified. SCS has been working on Dx11 & Vulkan support, hopefully old game engine will fully replaced, sadly it can take long time.

With scaling set to 200% the game has to render an image of 3840 x 2160 px and then downscale it back to 1920 x 1080 px in order to display it on my screen.
That's 400%.

They also said that DX11 won't bring a major improvement in fps.

@metpei: No, That's 200% (1920x1080 x2 = 3840x2160). 400% = 1920x1080 x4 = 7860x4320

In ETS2 400% equals a 2x vertical, 2x horizontal original rendering.
That's 4 times the number of pixels, hence the 400% designation.

@ShirBlackspots
You calculated 1920x2x1080x2= 3840x2140= 400%. 4K screen is 4x bigger than HD (1920x1080). 7860x4320 is 8K and it's whopping 16 times bigger than HD (1920x1080).
Adding Dx11 don't improve much fps, but quality goes up with modern GPU's. New game engine with Vulkan support is worth waiting.

Ok, so its based on pixels and not resolution.

1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
3840x2160 = 8,294,400 pixels

Which is 400%

Either way, it is a lot more. :P
