Hello,
I've want to build a small standalone map for ETS2.
For testing the map editor, I've built a map which only contains one little road an saved it. Then, I tested to open it, but it said "Error - Failed to load map file".
I've created another map for testing and saved it. I closed the game and opened it again. But now, only the name of the first created map is displayed in the section "File" in the top left of the editor. And if I click on "File -> Open", I see no maps in the opened folder.
The maps are saved in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\base\map - is that correct?

By the way, if I want to run any map which I've edited with map editor before, it also only says "Failed to load map file".

It would be great if anybody could help me with this problem. :)^

EDIT: Problem solved, it works if I move the created maps into "mod" folder.

Is it just me or is the Jump Map not working in the Editor.

Unlike the regular game I cannot use the Jump Map to jump to a different location on the map.

If it is NOT just me will this be fixed soon?

Hi Everyone,
Its been a while since anyone has posted here, but due to the nature of my problem, this topic seem the most appropriate.
I am trying to make a map mod for ATS, by following this tutorial: https://scsmoddingguide.github.io/mappi ... stmap.html Initially, everything went well. I created a map, saved it, made a .scs archive of it, put it in the mod folder (Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod), and opened it. Everything was fine. However, when I tried to open it again a few days later, all I got was a 'Failed to load map' error. Further attempts got the same result. The information that appeared in the console was as follows:

[fs] Failed to open file '/map/101.mbd' in the read_only mode.
Error loading map/map/101.mbd

I looked in the 'game.log' file, and the information was the same except that the line about the temporary directory wasn't included. I looked in the temporary directory, and all that was there was a file called 'lock'.
What I find particularly interesting, is that I was able to open this map before, and there hasn't been any game updates recently. Does anyone know what is going on here?

It'll be hard to help without seeing your game.log after the issue happens.

my .scs archive has a folder called 101, and a file called 101.mbd. I used 7zip to archive it with the archive format being zip, and the compression level being store.

It's looking for /map/101.mbd
So maybe you didn't pack it with correct folder structure.

You were right! The editor couldn't find the correct file structure because the name of the folder that contained '101' and '101.mbd' was wrong. I hadn't realized that the folder name has to be 'map' when it is archived. Apparently I changed its name at some point and re-archived it, which is why I had this problem.
