The difference is as follows:
Option 1: we keep our current version of Germany and (slowly) integrate SCS parts into our map;
Option 2: we completely ditch Northern Germany at first and start with the SCS version as a base and make the necessary connections with Southern Germany. Then we integrate our work back in step by step (and upgrade it).

From a pure technical standpoint, the first option is actually easier.
MandelSoft, cheers and thank you!
In that case. I would vote Option 1. Instead for the voted option 2 I did.
I did a check of the Northern Germany rework in the 1.32 beta and I like it!

i prefer option 1 i think is the best. because i love promods germany and the scs rebuild has very good things too. and also is better make things slowly and with more quality than fast and with less quality. sorry for my bad english

I had the opportunity to watch some YouTube videos showing 1.32 beta and, let me say this, @MandelSoft you did an amazing work!
To be honest, I haven't played ETS2 since Vive la France came out as my computer died soon after and I haven't replaced it yet; so my experience with Promods stops at 2.1x-ish. Anyways, the reason I came to PM was to replace all the ugly areas from the now very dated default map; I admit, back in the days the ARP was by far my favourite area in terms of realism and quality. But there's something that I personally think most people are missing, and that is that there's many areas that were created many years ago and didn't recieve a retouch in a long time; I think mainly about some urban areas and rural roads. What MandelSoft and SCS are doing is truly amazing, not many companies would spend time and money improving old game content for free. That is why I personally think it would be better to include notable PM improved areas into the new SCS base map; bringing the signage to PM standards, including more realistic interchanges and giving the "Promods touch" to urban areas; there's also a technical point of view: SCS content always uses the last available technology and is concieved to look good without being too heavy on lower-end PCs. Then there's also the "gameplay fluidity" aspect: transitioning from Going North to new Germany and Vive la France gives a very smooth gameplay in terms of visual experience and helps player immersion.
Anyways, this is just my 50 cents and any decision is up to the PM developers, who for sure know ETS2 better than me!

Option 1 seems not only easier but also the better one for ProMods in general. It keeps ProMods clear of SCS and keeps the mod as "something else".

Yes. We should keep in mind that SCS Germany is always available in the base game and can be played everytime, while ProMods' Germany would be lost if it would be replaced by the SCS areas ...
I hope ProMods will at least keep their cities because SCS's cities are still not good.

I agree with you 100%. Compare SCS Leipzig and ProMods Leipzig. You absolutely don't have to tell me. I can picture it well!(including Leipzig Halle Airport where is not in SCS :D)

Well... SCS Leipzig is... how old again?
German Truck Simulator Wikipedia page says.... January 2010.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 October 2012, uses GTS, right?
Leipzig was added to ProMods with PM version v2.11 " ETS2 v1.25.x" September 2016. So no wonder it looks better.
We could wait and see how SCS Leipzig will be in the updated form.

I will miss a driveable Köhlbrandbrücke in updated Hamburg. But I can live with that.
I would NOT miss the city section between Neue Elbbrücke and A7, ProMods version.
If PM Hamburg gets replaced with SCS Updated Hamburg.
