I need to know if mapping is a boring thing or a good thing. Encourage me.

That's your own opinion. I really enjoy mapping but others don't like it

We can't encourage you. Mapping is a personal thing. Just as playing sports. One likes Volleyball, another likes football.
I personally do not like mapping. But that's just because I don't have the patience to do it.
I do respect the ones who do have the patience to do it. And I love their work.

As 2 of my friends said on above: It is personal. Some poeple like it, some people find it exhausting and worthless.

Like all things, it is subjective. Personally, I don't think I could ever be a mapper. I love modding technicalities, like definition files, but I am far too critical of my own limited creativity to ever be able to map or model effectively.

Most likely it depends on the nature of the person and the goal, because figuring out in the editor that what sometimes it drags on, and sometimes bored. But after a while you realize that this is not enough for you. To a greater or lesser extent, this is a delicate and painstaking work.

I love it, but that's me.

Before i do mapping, i have to do pre-mapping like planning what to add in the map and what not to add in.
Sometimes it can get frustrated. I personally like mapping but not if i get stuck.
It takes a great amount of effort to work on a map and a lot of spare time of course. "You win some, you lose some".

Just think it this way: Do you think we would be mapping for free if it was boring for us?
