I am aware of SCS using vertex colours to control how bright or dark the objects are.
To reset the vertex colours (2.91.2):
1. Select the problematic object in Blender and keep it selected.
2. Open "Object Data Properties" (the triangle at the bottom right corner)
3. Under "Vertex Colors", delete "Col" and "Col_alpha" only.
4. Open "Material Properties" (the next tab after "Object Data Properties").
5. Scroll down to the "Vertex color layer(s) missing!" error and click "Add Vertex Colors to Active".
