G'day everyone,
I'm super-excited that the western-most tip of Pomerania is no longer just a blank spot on the map with ProMods. However, it looks alot like a mere appendix to the map and although the airfield in Anklam is a neat nod to Otto Lilienthal, the sugar refinery (including a biorefinery) is much more important when it comes to trucking (and the economy in general). Not connecting Anklam to Swinemünde is a missed opportunity as well, as Anklam is still an important gateway to the island of Usedom (at least until the Swine tunnel is opened). As I live in the region, I can collect alot of on-the-ground reference data of the various points of interest on my own. Anyway, here is the plan:
Phase I:
- add the sugar refinery to Anklam (getting to know the map editor)
Phase II:
- connect Anklam to Swinemünde via Zecherin (maybe with a petrol station in the town of Usedom)
Phase III:
- add Wolgast with its narrow through-way and the Peene-Werft (small town /w company)
Phase IV:
- connect Wolgast to Swinemünde and add Peenemünde as an off-shot viewpoint.
Phase V (far-distant-future):
- adding Stralsund /w Volkswerft and both Rügenbrücke and Rügendamm (by then I should have figured out creating diversion events)
- new B96 to Sassnitz
- Sassnitz /w fish cannery and Port of Neu Mukran
- Kap Arkona as yet another off-shot viewpoint
My experience:
- no mapping experience in ETS2
- 3D modelling with Blender, architectural in particular
- a bunch of other programs like GIMP, Inkscape, etc.
Though I have no experience, no cred to my name and varying time and motivation on my hand, I like to try out mapping for ETS2 as I suppose it is more in line with my current skill-set.
The greatest challenge is condensing all of this to scale, but for now, getting to know the map editor is of outmost importance. As such, I think adding a company and one or two roads may not be too difficult for a start.
Let's see what comes of it.
Greetings,
Max.

Hi,
Great plans, but if you have no knowledge in mapping you have put a lot on your to do list..
Good luck with it.
A few side informations:
The Poland rebuild map has in it's newest version a connection between Anklam and Świnoujście. I think for your other ideas would not be enough space since that 1:19 scale is damn little when it comes to certain local areas and the goal to build as much as possible..
The isle Rügen with it's bridges and Stralsund is already at work by a promodsmapper.. Just fly behind the XXX at the exit to Rügen at the A20 and you will see..
