ProMod's not working

Hello all,

I need some help, I've realised I thought I had ProMod installed and working but the locations on the map aren't there. I noticed I didn't have the two checkboxes ticked, and I've done that but now it crashes ETS2 to the desktop, that includes doing it with a new profile.

I have the latest version of ETS2 from Steam, purchased yesterday, with Going East DLC and downloaded/purchased the full ProMod v171 package.

I placed the two files, promods-map-v171.scs and promods-v171.scs to the mods folder (the only two .scs files in the zip) and checked both boxes in the addon manager in the game, and as I say it crashes ETS2.

I believe this supports V1.13 doesn't it?

Any help much appreciated :)

James.

You forgot to apply the very first step of the download instructions: download the DEF file and activate that in your profile.

For further information, see download instructions.

So I did

How on earth did I pass that screen! Grey haired moment (yet I have no grey hair yet )

Thank you MandelSoft for the reply, it does work now :)

James, you are not the first, nor sadly will you be the last to simply BLOW PAST Step #1 and race onwards to Step #2...

...at least the instructions default to English, although the very first page allows one to select their native language. :? :o

 For ScuL :!:

Can't someone make a pop-up show when you click <next> on that very first and essential screen. Which asks you:

Code: Select all

 :!: WARNING :!:
You're about to leave step one, are you sure you've generated the Def-file??
<yes><no>

When you click yes, you'll be directed to step two, when you click no, a second pop-up pops up:

Code: Select all

You need to generate a DEF-file here.
Without it, Promods won't be able to run.

It's just an idea, and not that hard to write in HTML. But it'll remind people that they really need that file.

Or they can just read the big bold red text saying "The importance of this file is critical. The mod will NOT work without this file!"

True, a point is given to you :)

Meh, it can be much simpler: grey out the "next" button until you have generated the DEF file.
