I am a guy who has came up with a name that represents a truck that was built between the late 1940s until 1956 by Mack. That was the L model Mack. Most of them had a 5 speed main box and a 4 speed auxiliary transmission. Mack was the only builder that had the shift lever for what many guys called the "brownie" located towards the driver and that same shift lever was mounted towards the windshield on cabovers while the shift lever for the main box was located on the passenger side on the L models and was mounted towards the sleeper or the 5th wheel on cabovers. The truck had the hanging wipers which when it came to rainy weather driving the wipers would swing down to sweep away the rain water and it that was very easy on the driver due to that the clean part was right where the driver was trying to see.
